Opening of OCOP product introduction week, featuring regions and regions in the Ho Chi Minh city

On October 27, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City cooperated with the Department of Industry and Trade and related units to organize OCOP Product Week and typical products of regions and regions in 2023. The event took place until the end of October 29 at Le Thi Rieng Park, Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

The week aims to support the introduction, promotion, trade promotion, and connection of supply and demand for enterprises and production establishments of OCOP products and regional and regional typical products in provinces and cities in 5 regions (North and North Central, Central Highlands, South Central Coast, Southeast, Mekong Delta) and Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlight of the week is the display space, which introduces nearly 1,200 products from more than 439 enterprises and cooperatives from 38 provinces and cities across the country. In total, there are 756 OCOP products with 3 to 5 stars, with the potential to supply domestic and export distribution channels. Each province and city participates in the display and exhibition of OCOP products, typical regional and regional products designed according to the cultural characteristics of each region and region.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Minh Chau, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized: This week has the participation of provinces and cities in five regions that have signed socio-economic cooperation agreements with Ho Chi Minh City. From the past to the present, Ho Chi Minh City expects that OCOP products, typical products of regions and regions, will be introduced, promoted, and promoted to connect supply and demand and directly access distributors and consumers; at the same time, it is also an activity for enterprises and production units to exchange and learn to improve products from 3 to 4-5 stars and be export-oriented.

However, according to Mr. Ngo Minh Chau, in order to do that, it is necessary to create its own brand, product design, and consumption connection; large distribution systems together build solutions to accompany and support OCOP entities; and promote the development of OCOP products in the direction of perfecting processes, connecting supply and demand, developing markets, and sustainable supply chains.

As one of the participants in the week, Mr. Ngo Thanh Long, Director, Thanh Long ANNA Business Household (Hung Nhon Hamlet, Hung Loc Commune, Thong Nhat District, Dong Nai Province), said: The unit brings new products to consumers in Ho Chi Minh City. With the desire to promote the brand, expand the distribution channel system, thereby promoting product consumption connections with businesses and retail groups in Ho Chi Minh City.
