On the morning of September 12, 2023, at the Da Nang Fair and Exhibition Center, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the City People's Committee, Da Nang, Department of Industry and Trade, held the opening ceremony of the 2023 Processing and Supporting Industry Fair in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City.

The fair, with a scale of more than 160 booths from more than 120 domestic and foreign enterprises displaying and introducing supporting industry and processing products in the fields of mechanical engineering, automobile manufacturing and assembly, electronics, high-tech industry, textiles, footwear, and other supporting industries, expanded according to the city's supporting industry development policy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Do Thang Hai said that currently, in our country, the manufacturing and supporting industries are receiving special attention and development focus from the Party and Government.
Resolution No. 29 Central resolutions of the Party Central Committee on continuing to promote industrialization and modernization of the country to 2030, with a vision to 2045, defines "the development of processing and manufacturing industries as key; digital transformation is a breakthrough new method to shorten the process of industrialization and modernization" and sets a goal that by 2030 the proportion of industry in GDP will reach over 40% and the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries in GDP will reach about 30%.
Resolution 115 Government resolution dated August 6, 2020 of the government on solutions to promote the development of supporting industries also states that supporting industries are important for the economic restructuring in the direction of industrialization and modernization.
One of the solutions to realize the above objectives is to create opportunities for the formation and development of domestic value chains through effective investment attraction and promotion of business connections and links between Vietnamese enterprises and multinational enterprises, as well as domestic and foreign manufacturing and assembly companies.
